The Benefits of Recycling Corrugate
Many of us know the basic benefits of recycling paper and corrugate, save a tree, a forest and your environment, but did you know there are various other benefits to recycling?
When paper and corrugate go into waste, the waste management has two choices either send it to the landfill or have it all incinerated. Landfill pile ups cause methane gas buildup which is a greenhouse gas that has shown significant impact on the environment. Incineration causes carbon dioxide buildup another major environmental pollutant.
WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) has completed a study in which they say that recycling 1 ton of paper and cardboard will avoid 1.4 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent compared to landfill, and 0.62 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent compared to incineration. That is a large amount of carbon dioxide!
So don’t forget to recycle and help make the changes we all need to make!
